University of Bridgeport
M. S. IN HUMAN NUTRITION PROGRAM
DACBN Articulation Agreement
To MS students who are physicians wishing to
attain the DACBN:
The University of Bridgeport Human Nutrition Institute has
an agreement with the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (ACBN) for graduates
of the UB program whom also hold a clinical doctorate degree (i.e. DC, ND, MD,
DO, DDS) to sit for the ACBN examination leading to the Diplomate of the
American Clinical Board of Nutrition (DACBN), formerly the American Chiropractic
Board of Nutrition. The credential is open to all types of physicians at this
time, not just chiropractic physicians.
The DACBN program offered by the ACBN is a 320-hour weekend
program which runs at various sites around the country for 2.5 years. The UB
graduates with an M.S. degree in nutrition have attained the equivalent of 280
clock hours (or on-line equivalent). The DACBN requires 300 hours minimum of
training. The additional 20 hours necessary to sit for the DACBN examination
can be obtained in one of two ways:
- Taking an additional elective course through UB (i.e.
560L, P or J)
- Attending 20-hours of a DACBN course
- Attending 20-hours at any nutritional seminar that is
co-sponsored by a government approved college.
For more information on how to attain the DACBN, test dates,
